Configuring RoadAI for cycle and footway surveying

  1. Create a folder dedicated for cycle and footway surveying to easily distinguish it from road surveys.
  2. Use a network geometry file that can be applied specifically to the cycleway and footway shared folder.
We recommend using a separate cycleway network geometry file. The collected data is attached to the cycle and footway geometry for filtering, analysis and reporting.
  3. Activate the driven lane mode. This mode limits the road condition analysis to the lane ahead and excludes the other lanes running in parallel to it from the analysis.
tip The driven lane mode helps in cases where, for example, a cycleway is beside a road or a footway, and is separated by curb stones, painted line markings or changes in surface materials. Without the driven lane mode on, RoadAI would analyze the whole visible road surface area, including the cycleway and all other road types next to it. Contact your RoadAI customer success manager to activate the driven lane mode.
