Combined data overlays
In addition to individual distress data overlays, RoadAI provides combined data overlays. The Structural distresses and Surface distresses data overlays combine a few individual distresses into one single data overlay to get a generic overview of the most severe distresses present in the road network.
The severity ranking within a combined data overlay is from no distress to the most severe distress category, from top to bottom in the legend.
The Structural distresses data overlay combines Edge deterioration, Alligator cracking, and Subsidence.
The Surface distresses data overlay combines Moderate transverse cracking, Severe transverse cracking, Moderate longitudinal cracking, Severe longitudinal cracking, Bleeding, and Severe raveling.
The distresses are ranked by severity, and the most severe present distress is the one displayed in the overlay.
For example, in the Structural distresses overlay, if a road segment shows as red and indicating Subsidence, it is possible that all the other distresses (Edge deterioration and Alligator cracking) are also present in the same road segment.
The severity value must be greater than or equal to the threshold value when determining which distress to display. The severity value of a distress is defined by its lateral extent (width relative to the road width).
