These recommendations apply if you need the highest quality road condition data. |
To get the best surveying results, it is recommended to:
- The accuracy of data is dependent on the recording conditions. Use similar recording conditions to get comparable results.
- Make sure the windshield is clean.
- Make sure roughly 1/3 of the view is above the horizon, and 2/3 below.
- Avoid driving directly facing the sun if it is close to the horizon.
- Avoid driving when the surface of the road is wet.
- Use a polarizing filter.
- Avoid driving when it is too dark, bright, or foggy. Ideally, drive on a slightly overcast day to minimize shadows.
