PAS 2161 conformity in RoadAI
In PAS 2161 RCM technology type classification, RoadAI is classified as RCM technology type M.
| Type M: Dedicated mobile technologies | Individual, mobile, portable data collection devices, typically installed in a vehicle on a temporary or permanent basis specifically for the collection of RCM data. | This typically involves small-scale image collection, such as mobile phone or dash-cam technologies supported by a global navigation satellite system (GNSS), running bespoke applications. Collection is managed or controlled by data collector operatives, or operatives trained in the use of the system. |
RoadAI’s PAS 2161 data production is based on specific versions of the RoadAI computer vision-based distress detector, automated video quality control, and PAS 2161 category classification models. The process for producing the data is as follows:
- The distress detector model produces the road condition raw data.
 - The PAS 2161 video quality control model is used for qualifying video footage for PAS 2161
        use.
- Video sections not suitable for data production, for example, due to poor weather or lighting conditions, are disqualified in accordance with PAS 2161 requirements.

 - The RoadAI PAS 2161 road condition classifier model converts distress detections into PAS 2161 road condition categories.

| RoadAI produces, displays, and reports PAS 2161 road condition data at the required 10–meter resolution. |
